I think I can only be able to write briefly. India has already be a place with great temptation for you. And sure, I enjoy and miss my trip so much. However, I just so strongly advice not to go there alone.
There are many many poor Indian. Their living standard have a great distance from us. Their life are so tough and I found them just so 無奈與痳木. We are so difficult to be free there cause they will surround you all the times.
You will be able to smell the death in Varanasi cause the ashes of the firing of the dead bodies will be on your body as you can stand very close to it. You will see the beggers like the dead body lying on the floor in the street. You will see the floating dead bodies on the river of Varanasi and people use that water to clean their teeth or to purify their soul too.
You will see the 糞便 of the cow 跌在the face of the Indians who lied on the floor of the train platform. You have to scared that the cows may 踩到你雙腳.
You will appreciate for the beautiful sculptures of the temples in Khajuraho. You will praise for their wonderful works in thousand years ago and you will be so amazing for why they can be kept for that fine. You will also doubt why they put those scupltures making love on the walls of the temples.
You will find Old Delhi as Mongkok. When you visit those cheap guest house, you will be so terrified for so much yauppies who looks so much as a drug addictors.(Forgive for my poor english & I type chinese very slow.)
When you arrived at the cities of India in the midnight, you will worry why there is no English marks of the streets or the roads.
You will find everywhere in India is a 古蹟. You can see castles, palaces everywhere.
You will see people lower their bodies on the sides of the roads in night. What are they doing? They are in their toilet. And you can find a lot of Indians slept in the sides of the roads. They are homeless.
You can see they use their head to carry a long and heavy rod of trunk.
You can't find a female toilet in the street of India. You may be able to find open toilets for men. If you are lucky to find a closed one, it will be a shit mountain inside except those inside the long distance bus stations.
I think I have already mention too much. It will just lower your adventure and excitment there.
You are invited to watch 2 of my webpages of India. They are mainly in pictures.
It will be great to have an accompanion with you. Then you can taste India much much freely.

Hi, I'm the Joanne who asked a lot of questions here before.
I'm now at Kathmandu. I've finished trekking. I took the 5 days Poon Hill trek. It was amazing! Only some rains in the evening, not as bad as many people said.
I'm a girl and I came alone, so I hire a trekking guide through my hotel, because I guess this would be safer, even though it's a bit more expensive than through the agencies outside. My guide took very good care of me. If anyone wants his email address, I can give it to you.
I was very lucky. Because many people said they couldn't see the mountains clear in this season, but the morning I went up to PoonHill, the sky was very clear. I've been able to take some nice photos.
I think it's generally safe for girls to travel alone here. But if you go trekking this season, there's really quite a lot of lychees. Besides, when you go sightseeing, beware of the guys who said they're students and want to practise English, they're actually going to ask you for money or ask you to buy something.
For me, this is a fantastic trip for me. I've made a lot of good friends from all over the world here. If any girl wants any advice from a girl's point of view, please feel free to ask me. I might not be an expert, but I'm more than happy to share my experience with you.

Is it safe to travel Nepal alone? I'm planning to have my first trip on the comming December, and would like to stay there for about 10 days, any trekking route could you recommend? Do I have to book a hotel beforehand, or I could just walk-in?
The photo you presented in you homepage are very beautiful, what camera did you use?
Thanks for your advice!!!

Most Nepalese are friendly and helpful. I think travelling alone is generally more dangerous compared to travelling with a companion. However, it is an issue not specific to Nepal and take usual care during travel helps minimize the risks. You can find messages, posted earlier in this guestbook, about a lost solo HK traveller in Nepal.
As usual, I recommend Poon Hill trek for short vacation. There is no need to book backpacker's type accomodation. More luxury hotels may worth advance booking though.
I used Canon's EOS 50E with slides as well as a Powershot S30 DC.

Hoping my traveling experience in India are useful to you. I have one month traveling experience in India with my sister. We both are the small size. We won't choose to stay on street in night. However, we have the chances to get off from long-distant bus in the midnight. I will just choose the bicycle to take me to guest house coz I still can jump off from the bicycle if I found there is really going to have some bad things happen.
I don't suggest to take train coz it never be punctual. You always have to wait for several hours more & you won't know which platform your train is going to stop until the very last minute. It needs you to check it again and again from the information centre. Moreover, you got face to face with the staring from the Indians by train.
I would just choose the long distant bus at least you don't have to face others.
And be noticed that the train ticket sellers always cheat tourists on the matter of money change.
And those Indians who works in tourist industry were very very annoying.
Besides the above trouble things, India is a very very exciting and rich in many many different aspects for you to explore. I do love to visit there again.

And I don't suggest a girl to go alone in India. Of course, many Japanese girls go there alone. What I experience is India men were so "salty wetty". A girl alone will absolutely arouse more attention from them.
